Pastor Hana’s Weekly Reflection
“Search me, God.” A simple prayer that opens our hearts to guidance and renewal.
Prayer has always been at the centre of God’s people. When we look at Scripture, we see that some of the most faithful leaders didn’t rely on strength, strategy, or status. They relied on prayer.
David ends Psalm 139 with a bold and courageous prayer. After reflecting on how deeply God knows him, he doesn’t pull away…he leans in. He invites God to search his heart, to reveal anything that’s out of alignment, and to lead him forward.
Prayer isn’t only about asking God to fix what’s around us. Often, it’s about allowing God to shape what’s within us. When we pray, “Search me,” we’re opening ourselves up to God’s guidance, correction, and renewal. That kind of prayer takes humility and trust.
As a church family, we’re invited to step into this same rhythm of prayer. This week at PORTICO, we’re gathering for a Week of Prayer; a time to slow down, seek God together, and allow Him to search our hearts, guide our steps, and renew our faith.
Whether prayer feels natural or uncomfortable, practiced, or new, you’re invited. Because prayer isn’t about having the right words; it’s about showing up to a God who already knows and deeply loves you.
