  1. What was something that stood out to you from this past Sunday’s message? Share what you learned and how it will impact your life.

  2. Have you ever asked God why something painful happened to you? How did you feel when you didn’t get an answer right away?

  3. Read Job 38-41. Job hears the voice of God for the first time. Why do you think God answered Job with questions about nature instead of explaining the "bet" with Satan?

  4. Read Job 39:1-30. Why does God emphasize the untamed and chaotic elements of nature instead of the calm, peaceful and orderly ones?

  5. In which parts of your life do you feel like you are trying to take charge of everything? How does having faith in a powerful Creator change how you view those situations?

  6. Read Job 40-41. What is the difference between questioning God out of pain and questioning God's justice?

  7. Read Job 40:8. The Lord responds to Job, “Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?” Have you ever felt that God was being "unfair" during a suffering? When you sense that life is unjust, how can you change your perspective from your own suffering – the "why" to the nature of God – the "who"?

  8. Read Job 40:4. Job says, “I am unworthy – how can I reply to you? When has seeing the bigger picture of God’s power helped you to stop complaining or questioning?

  9. If God does not always tell us why we suffer, how can we still find peace in who He is?
