Peter says our inheritance is "imperishable, undefiled and unfading." What does this tell us about the nature of God's salvation compared with everything this world offers?

What similarities do you see between Paul's teaching in Romans 8:18–25 and Peter's teaching in 1 Peter 1:3–12? How do these passages together strengthen your understanding of the Christian hope?

Read 1 Peter 1:12. Peter says, even angels long to look into the gospel. If sinless angels marvel at God's plan of salvation, why do believers sometimes become so familiar with the gospel that it no longer amazes us? How can we keep that sense of wonder alive?

Peter says our living hope comes "through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." How does the resurrection of Jesus transform this passage from merely encouraging advice into the foundation of the gospel and our eternal hope?
