Nana’s Weekly Reflection

Baptism is not just a moment in water!

Does baptism still matter today? Some people just see it as a moment, a quick dip in the water, and that's it. But baptism isn't just a moment. It's a decision that means something. It's a public declaration. Not to prove anything to God, but to show the world I've chosen Jesus. When I got baptized, I felt like it was a step I needed to take in my faith.

To show the world and my community that I love Jesus, and that my old self died and I am made new in him.

Baptism is a public act and declaration of Jesus Christ.

You're entering into community with other Christ-followers.

It's to show what you already believe in.

Your faith decision is a personal thing, but your faith expression is a community thing.

Baptism isn't what saves you; it’s what shows you you've been changed. So yeah, it still makes sense today.
