Pastor Hana’s Weekly Reflection
Discipline isn’t about perfection, it’s about purpose. Stay focused. Stay faithful.
Do you ever have one of those days where motivation just disappears? You know you've got things to do, but scrolling, snacking, or procrastinating just sounds easier. We've all been there, but Paul reminds that the discipline is part of following Jesus.
In 2 Thessalonians 3, Paul addresses believers who had become idle people who stopped working and started depending on others, waiting for Jesus's return without actually living out their faith.
And Paul's challenge is clear. Don't grow lazy in doing what's right. Stay focused and stay faithful. And discipline isn't just about working hard. It's about living intentionally. It's showing up doing what God's called you to do and serving others even when it's not exciting or easy. A disciplined life reflects a devoted heart, and Paul reminds them that following Jesus means living with purpose every day.
Whether it’s through how we work, how we serve, or how we care for others, discipline helps us live out our faith in real tangible ways. And when we choose discipline over distraction, we make space for God to grow our character and use our lives to impact others.
So what's one area of your life where you need to stay focused instead of just growing idle?
