Sunday
Reflect on the weekly readings with the following questions:
Ruth took initiative to provide for Naomi by gleaning in the fields (Ruth 2:2–3). What does Ruth’s willingness to work hard during a difficult season teach us about responsibility and faithfulness?
The text says Ruth “happened” to come to the field belonging to Boaz (Ruth 2:3). Have you ever experienced a moment that seemed like coincidence but later felt like God’s guidance? How does this verse shape the way you view God’s providence in everyday life?
Boaz showed unusual kindness and protection toward Ruth, a foreigner and widow (Ruth 2:8–9). What does Boaz’s behavior teach us about how God’s people should treat those who are vulnerable, overlooked, or different from us?
Ruth responded to Boaz’s kindness with humility, asking why she had found favor as a foreigner (Ruth 2:10). How does humility shape the way we receive God’s blessings and the kindness of others?
Boaz tells Ruth she has come to take refuge under the wings of the Lord (Ruth 2:12). What does it mean practically to “take refuge” in God? How can you live in that place of trust and security in your current circumstances?
