Nana’s Weekly Reflection
What’s happening in your heart… eventually shows up in your life.
Proverbs 17–23 highlights what is inward. It reminds us that wisdom isn’t just about smart choices—it’s about heart posture.
Sometimes we let certain things enter in our heart, and instead of evicting it, we let those things kick up its feet and live there.
These chapters show us that emotions matter. Anger, envy, pride, greed—they don’t stay hidden. They shape our words, our reactions, our relationships.
We’re warned about quick tempers and dishonest gain.
We’re reminded that discipline is love, not rejection.
We’re told not to envy sinners, but to stay anchored in the fear of the Lord.
Again and again, Proverbs pulls us back to self-control and humility. It tells us that chasing pleasure, wealth, or approval may look appealing—but wisdom asks us to look at the long-term outcome.
Who you’re becoming is shaped by what you allow in your heart—resentment or forgiveness, envy or gratitude, impulse or discipline.
So today, ask yourself: "What is shaping my heart?"
Because the condition of your heart determines the direction of your life.
