Pastor Hana’s Weekly Reflection

Questioning God can be an act of faith, not a loss of it.

By the time we reach Job 3-10, the tone of the book changes. Job is no longer sitting quietly in grief – he begins to speak. And when he does, his words are raw, emotional, and full of questions. He questions his suffering, God’s justice, and even the meaning of his own life.

Job doesn’t pretend everything is fine. He doesn’t offer easy answers or spiritual clichés. Instead, he brings his confusion and pain directly to God. And that matters. Job teaches us that questioning God is not the same as abandoning faith. In fact, bringing our hardest questions to God can be an act of faith. It shows we still believe He is there, listening, and capable of responding.

In these chapters, Job wrestles with a God who feels distant and silent. He wonders why suffering exists and why it feels so personal. Yet even in his questioning, Job continues to speak to God, not away from Him. His faith may be shaken, but it is not gone.

What question or pain have you been holding back from God? What would it look like to bring it honestly to Him today?
