Pastor Hana’s Weekly Reflection
True faith shows up in endurance, not comfort.
Job’s story begins with loss – sudden, overwhelming, and undeserved. In a single day, Job loses his wealth, his livelihood, and his children. And yet, in the middle of his grief, Job chooses faithfulness. He doesn’t deny his pain, but he refuses to let pain have the final word.
Job’s response reminds us that faithfulness isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about choosing to trust God even when life doesn’t make sense. In Job 2, when his suffering continues and those closest to him question God, Job still holds on. He says, “Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”
Faithfulness doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay. It means staying anchored to God when everything feels like it’s falling apart. Job teaches us that true faith isn’t proven in comfort, but in endurance. It’s choosing to honour God – not because life is easy, but because God is still worthy.
Where is God inviting you to remain faithful this week – even when you don’t understand what He’s doing?
