Join us at our Mississauga Campus as Pastor Rick and Pastor Laura interview Keith & Sheila Gregoire to discuss how each of our assumptions and prior learning affect our decisions today, and explore how to lead people into a fuller picture of the Gospel of Jesus.

Sheila & Keith Gregoire

Dr. Keith Gregoire and Sheila Wray Gregoire have been married for over 30 years, and are the joint authors of the book The Good Guy’s Guide to Great Sex, the companion to Sheila’s award-winning book, The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex. Based on research of over 32,500 participants, Sheila and Keith teach healthy, evidence-based, biblical advice to help marriages and sex lives flourish.

Together, they have two adult daughters, one son in heaven, two sons-in-law, and two adorable grandchildren. 

When they have spare time, you can find Keith on local trails out birdwatching, and Sheila working on her latest knitting project.

  • Carmen serves as a Growth Group leader and facilitates a five-week SoulCare program at Portico.

    Outside of Portico, Carmen is a project management professional, working for Peel Region as an Advisor.

    Out of her desperate desire to experience spiritual breakthrough, Carmen participated in Rob Reimer's Soul Care Conference and Deliverance Training for the first time in 2021. Since then, God radically set her free from 30 years of tormenting thoughts. God restored soundness to her mind and firmly established her identity in Christ. 

    Now driven by God's calling to help others also receive deep spiritual healing and embrace their identity as children of God, Carmen facilitates Soul Care sessions and shares her personal testimony, offering hope to those who are struggling. Through this ministry, Carmen is humbled to see God move so miraculously in people's hearts, minds, souls, physical bodies, and relationships to wholeness.

  • We all need a healthy soul in order to serve well. We cannot give out of an empty cup. Soul Care explores 7 principles that are profound healing tools of God and when packaged together and lived out, can lead to lasting transformation, freedom, and a healthy soul. This session is an introduction to a journey of self-reflection, Holy Spirit inspiration, deep wrestling, and surrender. It is a process of discovering yourself in true community and discovering God as He pierces through the layers of your heart.

  • Married for 16 years, Jerry Philipose and Vinnie Philipose are the proud parents of two boys, ages 14 and 12.

    Together, they love serving at Portico, where their family has the opportunity to be involved in both Kids and Worship Team.

    They believe that serving is something the whole family can do together and that some of the greatest opportunities to make a difference happen when we simply say “yes" and make ourselves available.

    Outside of faithfully serving as a family, Jerry works as a paramedic in Toronto, while Vinnie is a teacher at Mississauga Christian Academy.

    Their heart is to help others encounter Jesus, build community and discover the joy that comes from serving together as a family.

  • What if serving wasn't just something your family did at church, but something that shaped who you are as family? In this interactive and honest session, we'll share our family's journey of creating a culture of service, helping our children move from watching us serve to discovering their God- given gifts, taking ownership, and stepping into leadership. We'll explore the joys and challenges of serving together, including balancing ministry and family life, setting healthy boundaries, navigating seasons when serving is difficult, and leading our families with intention. Through personal stories, discussion, and practical ideas, our hope is to inspire families to see serving not simply as a responsibility, but as a meaningful way to live out our faith, love and grow together.

  • Maril has attended Portico Community Church for the past 17 years alongside his wife, Dora, and their two children. He serves on both the elder board and the Care Centre board at Portico, driven by a desire to see God’s love shared through the community.

    Professionally, Maril is a Managing Solution Train Engineer at TD Bank Financial Group within Canadian Personal Banking, where he helps coordinate and align delivery across multiple agile teams to ensure the smooth execution of large-scale banking initiatives. Over his career, including previous roles at CIBC World Markets and Microsoft, Maril has developed deep expertise in leading large teams, strategic planning, business process improvement, and working in agile methodologies.

    Maril is passionate about driving successful initiatives that create real value, while also investing in his community and faith.

  • Charlene is the Associate Pastor at Portico as well as an experienced Registered Psychotherapist, with a passion for supporting people in times of need.

    For over two decades, Charlene has dedicated her life to supporting individuals from all walks of life as they navigate both crisis and non-crisis seasons. Her passion is to create a safe and welcoming space where people can address the barriers holding them back and take meaningful steps toward living fuller, more empowered lives.

    Charlene's experience has included serving as a prison chaplain and a family ministries pastor, roles that have deepened her understanding of emotional and spiritual care.

    Since 2008, Charlene has focused her professional efforts on psychotherapy, working with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of life challenges.

    Her approach blends deep compassion with practical tools, helping others find hope, healing, and renewed purpose. Outside of work, Charlene enjoys reading, trying interesting recipes and songwriting.

  • Trauma can affect people in complex and often unseen ways, shaping how they experience themselves, relationships, community, and faith. Understanding these realities can help us respond with greater wisdom, compassion, and care. In this seminar, we’ll explore how faith and mental health can be thoughtfully brought together, while we reduce stigma and create communities where people feel seen, supported, and safe. This session will challenge you to think in new ways as you lead yourself and others.

  • Rick is the Senior Pastor of Portico Community Church, Assistant Professor of Counselling and Spiritual Care at McMaster Divinity College. and a licensed psychotherapist, bringing together both spiritual and psychological insight in the care he provides.

    For over 20 years, he has faithfully served the communities of Mississauga, Milton, and Brampton, walking with people through both the joys and the challenges of life.

    His teaching style combines a strong grasp of theology with a heart for applying Scripture to everyday life, making the Bible come alive for people from all walks of life.

    With spiritual gifts of encouragement and exhortation, Rick has a unique ability to both inspire and guide others toward growth and healing.

    His background as a psychotherapist adds depth and practicality to his teaching, offering tools that connect faith with everyday life.

    As an Enneagram 7, Rick brings an energetic, creative, and joy-filled presence to every room he’s in. So when you come to the seminar, you can expect not only meaningful insights but also a fast-paced, engaging, and enjoyable experience.

  • We each have a unique personality, and the Enneagram personality test offers a helpful framework for understanding what drives us, how we see the world, and how we relate to others. In this seminar, we’ll explore the nine Enneagram personality types, discover their core motivations and strengths, and consider how greater self-awareness can help us grow and better understand the people around us.   • Natalie is the Associate Pastor at Portico Community Church.

    Before entering full-time ministry, she dedicated over twelve years to policing, working in roles such as Detective and Training Officer. During that time, she worked to bring justice, safety, and dignity into people’s lives, often walking with individuals and families in their most difficult moments. That commitment to justice and care continues to shape her pastoral calling, where she seeks not only to protect and serve but also to guide and restore people in need.

    Ordained with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC), Natalie has had the privilege of serving in churches of all sizes and settings, from small rural congregations to large multi-site ministries.

    Over the years, her ministry has included international missions, youth, discipleship, and church planting.

    Natalie is passionate about building healthy teams and creating meaningful connections with people of all ages, stages, and backgrounds.

    Outside of work, Natalie enjoys DIY home projects and travelling.
