Pastor Hana’s Weekly Reflection
-
How does knowing that I am created in God’s image – and that His grace remains even when I fall – shape the way I see myself and relate to others today?
Your story begins in Genesis: created in His image, created for His purpose.
Genesis 1 is the very first chapter of the Bible, and it’s the ultimate opening scene. God speaks, and everything happens. Light bursts into existence. Oceans form. Stars scatter across the sky. Land appears. Plants grow. Animals roam. And then, on the last day, the crown of His creation, humanity, made in His image.
It’s not just a story about the beginning of the world. It’s a story about the beginning of purpose.
Genesis 1 reminds us that we are not an accident. You were made on purpose, for a purpose, by a God who thought about you before the first sunrise ever happened.
Every part of creation shows God’s power and creativity, but only humanity was made to reflect His image. That means your worth doesn’t come from work, sports, likes, or popularity. It comes from the One who created you.
So when life feels chaotic or uncertain, remember this: The same God who created everything out of nothing is the same God who holds your life in His hands. He’s still creating beauty, order, and purpose. Starting with you.
As you go through this weeks’ reading, consider how knowing God made you “on purpose” can change the way you see yourself.
