Living with Purpose and Remembering Your Creator.

Ecclesiastes 11–12 brings Solomon's search for meaning to a powerful conclusion. After examining wisdom, pleasure, wealth, work, and life's many uncertainties, he encourages readers to live courageously, enjoy God's gifts, and remember their Creator before life's opportunities pass by.

Chapter 11 begins with a call to faith-filled action and generosity. Solomon writes,

"Send your grain across the seas, and in time, profits will flow back to you" (Ecclesiastes 11:1, NLT).

Rather than allowing uncertainty to create fear and inactivity, he encourages believers to trust God and take wise risks. He reminds us that we cannot control every outcome.

"…just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother's womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God" (Ecclesiastes 11:5, NLT).

Solomon also encourages people to enjoy life as a gift from God.

"Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning" (Ecclesiastes 11:7, NLT).

Yet this enjoyment should be balanced with an awareness that our choices matter and that we are accountable to God.

In chapter 12, Solomon urges readers to seek God while they are young and strong:

"Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator" (Ecclesiastes 12:1, NLT).

Using vivid imagery, he describes the aging process and reminds us that life is brief.

The book concludes with one of the clearest statements of purpose in all of Scripture:

"That's the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone's duty" (Ecclesiastes 12:13, NLT).

Ecclesiastes 11–12 teaches that because life is short and uncertain, we should live boldly, enjoy God's blessings gratefully, remember our Creator faithfully, and make honouring Him the central purpose of our lives.
