Pastor Jesse’s Weekly Reflection

Fear is real, but so is God’s peace. Take a breath. Trust Him in the unknown.

Sometimes the events of life can come out of nowhere and put us in a place of discomfort and fear. A diagnosis, a loss, a sudden change, and we're left asking, where is God in all of this?We are left wondering, and we are so often uncomfortable. Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Not if I'm afraid, but when fear is real.

These psalms are full of cries for help, for refuge, for deliverance, and yet in every lament there's this thread that winds through it all, and that is trust. A reminder that even in exile, in hardship, in the unknown, the God that we serve, the one who we trust, is still faithful.

So today, whatever fear you are facing, take a deep breath and make the best choice. Remember that God hasn't forgotten you. His peace meets you right in the middle of where you are.
